Dorie Gold is a busy teacher and performer with over 30 years' experience in her field. She maintains a studio of enthusiastic students online and in her private studio in Edmonton. Her students are awarded highest honours in RCM exams and regional festivals, and consistently win coveted seats with the Edmonton Youth Orchestra. Many go on to post-secondary music studies.
Dorie is co-owner of Allegretto Music Studios. She is a proud member of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers' Association, the National Flute Association and the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She is the founding Past President of the Edmonton Flute Association and currently sits on the EFA Board as Director of Public Relations.
Dorie has appeared as a guest artist in the Kaleido Family Arts Festival, the Wednesday Music at Noon Recital series, and with the Korean Women's Choir, the Parkland Music Teachers' Association, and countless special events in Edmonton, Vancouver, and Seoul, Korea. She regularly performs in the Northern Lights Duo with guitarist Tyson Oatway. She was a founding member of the Trio Aria (Edmonton) and The Seoulmates' Trio (Seoul, Korea).
Dorie is a graduate of Capilano University, where she studied with prominent Canadian flautist and composer Kathryn Cernauskas. She has performed in numerous masterclasses for such flute greats as William Bennett (Royal Academy of London), Wissam Boustany (Royal Northern College of Music) Emily Beynon (Royal Concertgebouw) and Carol Wincenc (Juilliard School of Music).
